Description*

This journal covers all areas of the human sciences ranging from prehistory to present-day societies. It can be accessed through Open Edition Journals’ website, a platform for journals in the humanities and social sciences.

The journal is published by the French Centre for Archaeology and Social Sciences (CEFAS), renamed the French Centre for Research on the Arabian Peninsula (CEFREPA) in 2021.

It is the continuation of the Chroniques yéménites, a review highlighting the work carried out at the French Centre for Archaeology and Social Sciences of Sanaa (CEFAS) between 1993 and 2013. While guaranteeing access to the issues of the Chroniques yéménites, Arabian Humanities  extends its field of competence to the entire Arabian Peninsula. The journal is supported by the Institute of Human and Social Sciences of the French National Centre for Scientific Research (CNRS).

Some of the articles published in the journal are:

  • No Peace without Justice: The Arab Spring, the National Dialogue, and Yemen’s Descent into Chaos
  • Insight on the Ancient Arabian Horse from North Arabian Petroglyphs
  • Archaeological research and heritage in the Sultanate of Oman as factors for the modernization of the country
