Architectural Conservation and Historic Preservation

This course is designed to address historic preservation and conservation as an approach that establishes a link between past, present and future. It is offered by the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur through National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning (NPTEL), an online education platform.

The course aims to familiarize participants with the status of conservation movement globally. It elaborates on the guidelines for preservation, rehabilitation and adaptive re-use of historic structures. It employs case studies to discuss historic sites such as Hampi, Golconda and Mahabalipuram.
