Global Ethics: An Introduction

This course explains how key moral theories can be used to address global ethical challenges. It is offered by the Open University through Future Learn, an online education platform.

In this course, global problems such as climate change, migration and poverty are discussed through philosophical concepts. On the course, participants will gain perspectives on key philosophical fundamentals including moral theories and ethical concepts. In addition to this, participants get to debate and apply these concepts to expand their understanding of complex global challenges.

Some of the questions addressed in the course are:

• Migration: Is controlling borders unethical?
• Climate change: What are our obligations to the future generation?
• Inequality: How do we address widespread global poverty?
