Global Media, War, and Technology

This course explores the relationship between violent conflict, information technology and global media. It is offered by the University of Queensland through edX, an online education platform. 

The course provides critical analysis of the emerging evolution of the 'media-sphere,' and the collaboration between the entertainment industry and military. It discusses what implications will the current mass surveillance have for the future of democracy and privacy. The participants are taught the significance of images in driving visual conflicts through media image analysis and critical viewing.
