Description*

International Centre for the Study of the Preservation and Restoration of Cultural Property (ICCROM) conducts lecture series to spread awareness about the conservation of all forms of cultural heritage, in every region of the world. The lectures are hosted by ICCROM's website.

Violent conflicts are threatening world peace and cultural diversity, both of which are inherently linked to human development. The intentional destruction of cultural heritage has become a weapon of war, and the illicit trafficking of antiquities is helping to sustain conflicts. In this context, ICCROM has been developing innovative educational programs, tools and materials since 1956.

Some of the lecture topics are:

  • Impact assessment for world heritage
  • Climate change policy for world heritage
  • Reopening and adapting heritage places during a pandemic
