Description*

This course describes the concepts in Korean philosophy through an exploration of the Korean language, culture and perspective. It is offered by Sungkyunkwan University (SKKU) through Future Learn, an e-learning platform.

Through this course, participants will learn how the Korean cultural, social, and political environment has informed and transformed the intellectual assets of China and the West. It also illustrates the unique worldview of Korean philosophy, inherent in the language, especially in the Korean word for ‘we’: “Uri”.

  • Adaptive innovation in Sungkyun and disruptive innovation in Hangeul
  • Core debates of Korean philosophy: Four-Seven Debate and the Horak Debate
