Module 1: Illegal Trafficking

This course is dedicated to the fight against theft and illicit trafficking of cultural property. It is taught by knowledge experts from the French Ministry of Culture and Communication. This is available through e-patrimoines, an e-learning training program launched by the French Ministry of Culture and Communication (Directorate General of Cultural Heritage-Department of European and International Affairs). It was undertaken in partnership with the University Agency of the Francophonie (AUF) and the World Digital Francophone University (UNFM).

Lectures in this module relate to the legislation in force in France and in other countries. It provides an introduction on organizations combating illicit trafficking of different types of heritage (movable, natural and underwater).

• Role of the International Criminal Police Organisation (INTERPOL)
• Protection of animal and plant species
