Description*

This course provides guidance to individuals, including managers and employees, so that they can prepare to respond to an active shooter situation. It is offered as a certificate course by the United Nations Department of Safety and Security (UNDSS) on its online training platform.

Although, active shooter incidents are frequently covered in the media, the average individual still finds it difficult to associate themselves and their reactions to such incidents. This course spreads awareness on options that have been proven to be most effective in preparing and responding to active shooter incidents. This training may take participants less than 20 minutes to complete.

Resources available include: brochures, pocket cards and posters available for download and printing in the Learning Resources section. Additional 'Active Shooter Workplace Exercise Guides,' are made available to security officers.
