Description*

This course provides learners with the skills to evaluate national cultural and environmental sites, and implement repurposing projects for their renewal. It is taught by the University of Naples Federico II through edX, an online education platform.

The focus is on the phenomenon of social innovation applied to cultural heritage. Flagship projects that have developed in recent years in Southern Italy are presented in this course. They demonstrate how the new management model can be used as an alternative to the current public or private models. Furthermore, case studies and exercises will enable learners to test out their newly-acquired skills.

Some of the course contents are:

  • Organizational issues in the Cultural Heritage sector
  • Different stages in business planning
  • Management mechanisms and coordination
