This e-book provides a detailed account of the scope of application, definitions and provisions adopted by the International Institute for the Unification of Private Law (UNIDROIT) Convention on the International Return of Stolen or Illegally Exported Cultural Objects. It can be accessed through UNIDROIT's website, an independent intergovernmental organization.

The states parties at the origin of this convention met in Rome at the invitation of the Government of the Italian Republic from 7 to 24 June 1995 for a Diplomatic Conference for the adoption of the draft UNIDROIT Convention on the International Return of Stolen or Illegally Exported Cultural Objects.
